The Amanda-Clearcreek FFA Agricultural Issues Forum team earned an impressive 2nd place finish in the state of Ohio, securing a return trip to the Eastern Region Competition this fall in Boston, Massachusetts (The Big E).

This year’s all-sophomore team—Alana Benjamin, Madison Matheny, Grace Martin, Reese Melton, Bella Metz, and Riley Strickler—demonstrated incredible dedication, putting in long hours preparing for their topic on GMOs.

Their hard work included presenting at 16 forums across Ohio and engaging with agricultural leaders, local farmers, state organizations, and policymakers. Two team members even extended their learning to the national level, discussing agricultural issues in Washington, D.C.

We are proud of the commitment, professionalism, and success of this outstanding group and look forward to what they accomplish next!

The Amanda-Clearcreek FFA Chapter proudly sent four members to compete in the State Nature Interpretation CDE: Sophia Dossman, Averie Frank, Greta Helser, and Reese Melton.

These students did an outstanding job representing A-C, earning an impressive 5th place finish in the entire state of Ohio!

πŸ‘ Special recognition to Reese Melton, who placed 2nd overall out of 100+ contestants — an incredible accomplishment!

This team has been working toward this success since the beginning of the year. The Nature Interpretation CDE challenges students to identify a wide range of mammals, birds, reptiles, and equipment, along with completing a written exam and multiple hands-on practicums.

🌟 A-C FFA has a strong tradition in this event, with:

  • πŸ₯‡ 3 State Championships
  • πŸ₯‰ 4 Third-Place finishes
  • πŸ… 2 Fourth-Place finishes
  • πŸ… 4 Fifth-Place finishes

We are extremely proud of these four students for their dedication, knowledge, and hard work. The future is bright for this group, and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish next year!

Landon Passed Overhead welding test
Scott Iles

Congratulations to Landon Slone on earning his D9.1 4G Overhead Welding Certification through the American Welding Society today at Columbus State Community College!

Landon passed this incredibly challenging certification on his first attempt—a rare accomplishment and a true testament to his skill, focus, and work ethic.

Even more impressive—this is the first time any student from the Amanda-Clearcreek Ag Capstone Welding Course has reached this level of certification. After already passing his initial welding test with his classmates weeks ago, Landon pushed himself further to take on one of the most difficult welding tests possible in his field—and succeeded.

πŸ’ͺ Hard work. Determination. Excellence.

Congratulations, Landon, on achieving your goal and setting a new standard for A-C students! πŸ‘

A-C FFA Students on a trip to D.C.

A-C FFA members Catherine Buckley, Grace Martin, Emma Strickler, and Riley Strickler traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend the National Policy Seminar, where they advocated for agricultural education and the FFA at the national level.

During their trip, students met with Ohio senators and U.S. representatives, discussed key issues like the Farm Bill and GMOs, and even observed a live Senate session.

This once-in-a-lifetime experience gave our students a firsthand look at government and the opportunity to represent A-C on a national stage. We’re proud of their leadership and impact!
